Posts for Thought

Why Did We Choose Adoption?
Written in the summer of 2009, right after we were approved for our homestudy.

What Is Normal?
This post was written in 2009, fairly early in our waiting period.  It's mostly about my infertility journey.

How Infertility Has Effed Up My Head
This post I wrote recently and is about why I no longer hope/want to get pregnant.

Being A Multi-Racial Family
This post I wrote as I started reading transracial parenting books and scared the bejeebus out of myself.  The books have since been shelved until a later date as we navigate the more mundane aspects of parenting such as eating (or not) and sleeping (or not).

  1. Hi, Thanks for the comment on my blog. The last two of your links really spoke to me. Since I had recurrent miscarriages, I absolutely HATED it when people suggested I might get pregnant after adopting. If it happened and worked, I wouldn't be able to stop myself from snapping at them. And yes transracial parenting books are scary and so negative!

  2. Visiting for ICLW. Just read your post titled Being a Multi-Racial Family. That really hit home. I just started to realize this week that we are in our own "bubble" as I have started to venture out to work and the store with our newest addition. I hope the best for you and your family!
