Late August 2008: sent in the first round application for adoption.
Late January 2009: sent in second round application, got fingerprinted, background check, physicals, yada yada yada
February 2009: start homestudy interviews
May 2009: video, yes, a video for our profile, finished interviews, write letters, freak over what kind of stationary will copy well and still look cool.
June 29, 2009: approved for adoption and on the list #46!

July 2012: We have our homestudy update meeting, where we realize we had forgotten to get our fingerprints done for background checks. Curses! It'll be at least a couple more months while those get processed.
September 28, 2012: We finally get on the list at #45. Everything except the video and expectant parent letters are done. We keep forgetting about those.
November 5: Expectant parent letters and video are finished and turned in.

May 31, 2013: Placement ceremony and we go home from the hospital
June 3, 2013: Baby A's mom decides to parent. We fall apart, then slowly start picking up the pieces of our failed match.

August 21, 2013: Called about a special case. We agree to be profiled. We are rejected a week later.

March 2014: Matched on March 25th with Baby N
April 2014: Match with Baby N falls through. Mom disappeared before papers were signed and Dad stated he would contest an adoption. Baby N goes back to the county child protective services. #10 on the list.
May 2014: Still #10, no placements in April bah.
June 2014: Still #10. Getting transferred to another caseworker because ours is going on maternity leave. Oh, the irony.
June 25, 2014: Matched. EDD is August 31
September 6, 2014: Baby Z is born!
