#MicroblogMondays - Cleaning Up My Blog

The line between anonymous me on this blog and in real life me is beginning to blur and has prompted me to revert some of my posts to draft. I'm usually careful to only post about things that happen to me, but rest assured if any family members read what I wrote all hell would break loose. I'm not what you'd call tactful when ranting in this space. I don't plan on ever revealing my identity, or invite IRL friends/family to read this blog, but I have felt a pull to post a picture or two, like on my NIAW post. I thought about that long and hard, and realized that putting up a picture of myself when I've been totally anonymous would be a nice punctuation mark on the whole post. It felt right. It also felt a little scary.

Don't know what #microblogmondays is? Check it out here.

  1. Sometimes I wish I had remained anonymous, especially when I have heavy topics I want to discuss. Do what you need to do :-)

  2. I've always been very personal on my blog, which has led to many problems. But I feel so established there that I don't know if I could go the anonymous route now. My posts got to the point they were vague and I hated that. So now I'm trying to be more upfront and honest with my thoughts and feelings. But I also know that most of my in-laws don't read my blog (because they got offended by part of my infertility that crossed into their lives), so its makes it easier to do that.

  3. Am I the only one who would love it if my MIL stumbled across my blog? He he. Maybe I'm more passive aggressive than I thought I was. Lol! I have shared my blog with three people IRL and have no regrets. I get where you are coming from though.

  4. It's definitely a delicate line to follow, and the placement of that line is different for everyone. Good luck!

  5. I noticed that you did that and was impressed! I've been pulled to share my blog with people I know IRL lately but that's also because I don't rant much about family anymore. All my old posts where I did are password protected now! My sister even reads and comments on my blog now which is still a little weird, though appreciated! (I draw the line at parents though.)

    1. Like my rule of "no elders" for FB friends. No aunts/uncles/parents. Uh uh. :).

  6. I for one am glad you did. I think it's nice as folks build connection online for some of those lines to blur a bit. Though I get wanting to protect this space from IRL folks. That is a tricky area for me. I can't post everything I might want to write about because of having IRL folks following.
