We found out yesterday that our refiled 2010 taxes to include the adoption tax credit for 2009 was closed.
No money.
No letter.
No reason.
S went into the office and the sourpuss behind the desk had no explanation.
We have to resubmit? I guess, but I'm so pissed. This will be the third go-round. We obviously qualify and have all the documentation.
Give me the money assholes!
Oh ma, that really bites. It's like they have no rhyme or reason for what they do. I hope you have some sort of recourse. A lawyer maybe? That is A LOT of money to be out.

ReplyDeleteWhy are you filing it separately from your normal return? Include it with 2012.
ReplyDeleteOh, you know, we were trying to follow the "rules" which state that if you going through a private domestic adoption, you file the credit on the tax return year following the year you incurred charges (even if you don't have a placement of a child yet). Anyway, it's different than for foster or for international for some stupid reason. But, good point, we might just do that to see if that path works.
