If the thought of discussing a shitty book at a coffee shop makes your skin crawl, SKIP BOOK CLUB.
The book, which will remain nameless, is that fan fiction drivel.* It's gotta be the worst book I've ever read. Ok, perhaps tied with the original trilogy on which it's based.
It doesn't help that I feel overwhelmed by my recent round of travel, work tasks that are due, getting the dog to the vet, making our video, writing letters, trying to find time to see a therapist, teaching jaz.zercise again, using love and logic (damn, that's fucking hard despite how much sense it makes), trying to figure out if Baby X is lactose intolerant, and on and on and on. (And P.M.S is in full bitchy swing)
Yeah, should've skipped it instead of showing up furious at the universe. *sigh*
*No, I am not going to read the next two books. Even if they are free.
We're reading Swamplandia this month in my book club. It's an interesting group, but I suspect the reason I'd skip book group is feelings of complete and utter inadequacy.
ReplyDeleteSorry your meeting was such a downer!
Does it have to do with Gray and shades there of? Worst books ever. I read the first one because all my friends were doing it. The 2nd one was awful and I don't know how it seduced me to read it. I am not reading the third. It is like a train wreck. I am trying not to watch...
ReplyDeleteYes! Ugh, such a waste of time.
