We are matched.
Letting that sink in for a moment..................
We are still number 27 in the pool (see update I wrote here). This is the power of the internetz at work, as the expectant parents saw our profile on the agency's website and chose us. (I'm really hoping they bothered to check out our website too, because that wasn't free even with a friend helping us out..but that's neither here nor there).
The shock I felt when taking the phone call was the same as when we got the call about Baby X. I stared at the phone flashing "Ado.ption Op.tions" at me, and thought, this isn't a good time! The placement supervisor was on the other end with the news, and it is indeed real. The expectant parents want to meet us this week. Our formal presentation with the agency when we learn all the details about the situation is tomorrow afternoon.
Funny how these things go through your head as an adoptive parent. It's not a good time. I could hear it in S's voice when I called him with the news. We thought we had until at least the fall, or winter, or next year some time....not less than 2 weeks!
WOW WOW WOW!!!!! So excited for you!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it - I PROMISE! Those thoughts are normal, but once that baby is here, you won't even be able to believe you ever thought it!

ReplyDeleteWow oh wow! Do you need anything? Two weeks isn't too bad. I've had an hour notice before, at 3 am. Are they local or will you have to travel? The baby will be a Gemini :D
