Let's hope we aren't celebrating this next year.
The ticker is showing 11 months, 6 days today. We have a bill to pay to the agency, physicals to endure again and another interview/home inspection with a new caseworker in the next few weeks. I want to address at least one of the safety concerns in our house that was brought up during the last home inspection so that we at least look like we're taking them seriously. (There's some arguments we have about other items) Besides, it's the one item that actually makes sense to me and we were going to fix anyway.
So, after a brief stint of sticking my head in the sand I'm currently in freak-out/fix things/organize/get everything done right now mode. Awesome. S isn't quite in the same mode...it's made for some interesting exchanges over the last couple of days.
We'll see what the weekend brings. Hopefully some progress or I'm going to lose it.
*edit* Well, guess what, we don't exactly have a whole lot of time to do anything! Our caseworker called today and set up the inspection for next Friday. *gah* Funny, it hasn't seemed to jar S into making sure that goddamn railing is up. He still says he won't be able to do it this weekend. WTF.
My DH and I are often on different pages when it comes to the urgency and priority of things. Therefore, I often end up doing everything myself. humpf. Also, we ended up with an amazing contractor for various things - if you need one. He's a perfectionist - you'd appreciate it! Sorry about the physicals and all that red tape - and like you, I'm hoping you're not "celebrating" another waiting anniversary next year!
ReplyDeleteWe have our first appointment with the social worker on Monday. She assured me it was just to talk and go over paperwork. I hope she doesn't mind the holes in the kitchen wall from a rambunctious puppy! One of the many things we want to have fixed before the official visit. Good luck on your preparations!
ReplyDeleteNora is beginning to army crawl and no railing in sight. Totally sympathize! It's on the list for ASAP though.
ReplyDeleteReading this is giving me anxiety, haha.
ReplyDeleteWe are coming up on needing to renew AGAIN.
Last year at this time I never, ever would have thought we would be doing it AGAIN. We already received the letter asking us for the big check so we can begin the paperwork again.
AHHHHHH.
I am still hoping a miracle happens in the next month so we don't have to renew.
Good luck to you. I hope your appointment goes well.
