It's kind of like watching the odometer in your car turn over.
It's also a wake up call. I feel a great deal of pressure to address the few "problem areas" in our house (forget that if I got pregnant no one would have inspected my house and found said problems) before we have to renew our homestudy at the end of June.
Meanwhile, we're trying to fix up a bedroom which now sports two giant holes where the closets are located and a little surprise where we want to put a closet door. That's right kids, a plumbing vent! And in what will become S's famous last words, "It shouldn't be too difficult to re-route". On top of that some genius put an outlet smack dab in the middle of the wall, 4 feet off the ground and as it turns out, S is pretty darn sure it's an original which makes it more difficult to move...or something. I start to tune out a certain point, much like he tunes out when I talk dams. I find that to be a lucky break however since I'm the one who wanted to hire an electrician in the first place. At least we have to now that it's not an easy job.
Well, none of that will be addressed this weekend as we're taking a little road trip out to Mo.ab so S can mountain bike and I can spend quality time with the dog. Given that I hate to fall (my biggest block to double diamond skiing) I did not turn out to be a great mountain biker. Or any kind of mountain biker. Or even like to ride bikes that much. Ok, I do have a 50 year old cruiser that's built like a tank. But I ride that 3 blocks to the bar.
I hate that homestudies have to be renewed yearly. It seems like there could be a better way.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your weekend...it'll all still be there when you get back!
Ohhh...have fun in Moab. We loved it out there.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the "problem areas." I much prefer to hire someone for things like that. Alas, my DH doesn't know his limits either. :\
Good luck fixing up the house! Sounds like a royal pain. There are quite a few issues I've been putting off fixing in my house.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on mountain biking. The last time I went I crashed and had a headache for days.
I hope you find a match soon! Have a fun weekend.
