Flipping through channels last night revealed yet another lame MTV "true life" type show. "Sixteen and Pregnant". SERIOUSLY? I guess I shouldn't express my very strong opinion until I see the whole show start to finish but I'm a little perplexed by the message they are sending.
Oh, I just had a funny thought. A bunch of sixteen year olds who don't get pregnant have more ammo in which to blackmail their parents into a "Super Sweet Sixteen" type of party. I can hear it now, "but Mo-om, at least I'm not pregnant!" Yeah, who cares that one of those parties cost as much as my wedding when you think of it that way.
When my friend told me about this show, I seriously threw up a little in my mouth. It might be a public service if it were from the viewpoint of "look, being a teen parent really sucks, so don;t have unprotected sex." Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the point.
